Our interactive gas bill explains where to find key pieces of information and what different parts of the account show.

    This is the actual address we are supplying your gas to.

    Account summary

    This area shows a summary of the payments you have made since your previous Alinta Energy gas bill, any balance carried forward (which is payable immediately), as well as the billing period and number of days the account covers. It will also show details of your concession (if eligible) as well as any one-off or special discounts, bonuses or charges. Note, if you are making monthly instalments this area will also show a Payment smoothing discount.

    Payment area

    This area shows the different payment options available for your Alinta Energy plan. When paying your bill, you will need to do so using one of these options by the due date shown.

    Fault or Emergency

    If you need to report a gas fault or emergency, you'll find the phone number for the local distributor for your home here. You can, of course, also call us and we'll put you through to them.

    When you contact us, you may be asked for either your customer number or your gas reference number. You'll also find the name of your plan here.

    Account balance

    This shows you the amount owing for this account and the due date. Or, if your account is in credit, the amount it’s in credit. If your account has a pay on time discount, be sure to pay on or before the due date to receive your discount. If you have chosen to pay your accounts by direct debit, there will be a message here confirming the arrangement.

    Your gas usage

    This graph shows the amount you have spent on gas per day, for this billing period. Also, a comparison of what you have used this period compared to previous periods. The accounts that cover summer and winter will often be higher (due to heating and cooling costs) than those that cover spring and autumn. This graph also shows the greenhouse gas emissions produced from your home gas usage.

    Account in detail

    This area shows the breakdown of your gas charges for this account including how much gas you've used, whether the account is based on an actual or estimated meter read and the distributor's supply charge for the period. It also shows your Meter Installation Reference Number (MIRN) which is a number specific to the meter installed at your home.

    Access to your meter

    This is the approximate date your gas meter will be read again (please note, this won't appear on a final account we send you). If your meter is normally difficult to access, always try to make it available for the few days before and the few days after this date, or your next account may be based on an estimate.
