Alinta Energy sponsors the Microscopes in Schools initiative
Twelve primary schools from the Bunbury region received 348 microscopes funded by Alinta Energy on Wednesday 23 July 2014 at a presentation at Bunbury Cathedral Grammar.
The presentation was attended by Former WA Chief Scientist & Visionary for the Cause, Lyn Beazley, MP John Castrilli, Project Coordinator, Di Collins, Senior Rotarian PRID, Dr. Ken Collins, principals and science teachers from recipient schools and Alinta Energy’s Ben Meakins [Market Development Executive].
Alinta Energy’s sponsorship of the microscopes was in partnership with the Rotary Club of Freshwater Bay and their Microscopes in Schools initiative in the Bunbury region. The Microscopes in Schools project aims at engaging primary students with science at a young age in order to combat the decline of Western Australian students entering science-related fields at a higher level.
