Yandin Wind Farm, a co-investment of Alinta Energy and RATCH-Australia, has achieved a capacity factor (the percentage of electricity produced by the site relative to its possible maximum) of 43.6 per cent, the highest of any wind farm in Australia in the 2024 calendar year.
This statistic, which comes from Rystad Energy, cements Yandin's position as the most efficient wind farm in the country last year.
It's the latest in a line of achievements for the wind farm, which launched in 2021 in Dandaragan, north of Perth, bolstering its reputation as a critical contributor to WA’s transition and renewable energy supply. This latest news follows on from OpenNEM's report last year that Yandin Wind Farm achieved the highest output of any renewable energy facility in Western Australia in 2023.
We're proud of everyone at the Yandin team and our project partners at RATCH-Australia, who are working hard to ensure it remains a cornerstone of Western Australia and the wider nation's transition to a cleaner energy future.
