Community grants round 7 recipients
We’ve announced our latest round of community grant recipients as part of our ongoing Community Development Program.
Round seven is one of our biggest yet, with seven not-for-profit groups receiving funding from us to help with their projects. The list includes two organisations we’ve previously worked with and five we’re pleased to be meeting for the first time.
We’ve been running our Community Grants Program since 2020, providing grants of up to $20,000 to grassroots, not-for-profit organisations across the country focused on addressing social disadvantage and environmental sustainability. The program is designed to make a positive and lasting contribution across the community.

Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Women's Shelter
The Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Women’s Shelter (HKWS) offers safe emergency accommodation and support for women facing homelessness and domestic violence. We’re donating funds for HKWS to put towards 15kWh solar battery installation and additional upgrades that will help them keep the lights on in case of grid failures.

Leading Youth Forward
Based in Claremont, WA, Leading Youth Forward (LYF) provides mentoring and group activities for at-risk teens in school years 7-10. We’re giving them money for their duo of ‘Big Day Out’ events to introduce the teens to key life skills in partnership with their mentors.

Empowered Women in Trades
Empowered Women in Trades (EWIT) exists to create an inclusive culture of gender equality for tradeswomen. We’re committing a grant to help EWIT fund a three-day program for women in Outback and Central West Queensland, regions with the highest female unemployment rate in the state.

ECHO Empowering Services
ECHO Empowering Services is a fast-growing organisation offering neighbourhood housing, aged care, emergency relief, and various other services to several local communities in Far North Queensland. Our funding will help them build an extension for their emergency relief room so that they can accommodate more food and supplies.

Emmaus Community
Emmaus Community offers a place to call home for adults with mental health challenges. Its social housing model provides a supportive, community-based home environment with shared meals and regular events. Emmaus is putting its Alinta Energy grant towards a new solar battery and heat pump system installation.

The Shoreline Foundation
We’re continuing our support for previous grant recipient Shoreline, a group offering educational and employment opportunities for First Nations students. The next round of funding will go towards supporting two current trainees from the program at Perth Zoo.

Lefevre Uniting Church Taperoo
The Lefevre Uniting Church Taperoo is located on the Lefevre Peninsula in South Australia. We’re providing them with funds for their food centre's community coffee shop to encourage conversation for the lonely and vulnerable people who may otherwise be disconnected from the local community.
