Oven Mountain and Alinta Energy sponsor 2024 Saltwater Freshwater Festival in NSW

The Oven Mountain Pumped Hydro Storage Project and Alinta Energy were proud to sponsor the 2024 Saltwater Freshwater Festival in Kempsey, NSW on 20 July.

The festival, organised by the Saltwater Freshwater Arts Alliance, was held at Kempsey Race Club and brought together Gumbaynggirr, Dunghutti, Biripi and Worimi communities from across the Mid North Coast of New South Wales to share their traditions through music, dance, art and food.

We were grateful to be able to offer a positive contribution as co-sponsors (with the Oven Mountain Pumped Hydro Storage Project) of the festival's Yarn Tent, which featured speaking panels and language workshops throughout the day.

It was an important space at the event where attendees could discuss important issues and cultural priorities for First Nations people, including the preservation of traditional languages in the area and what this means for local communities.

By sharing experiences and listening to others, the participants at the tent were able to deepen their understanding, build relationships, and offer support to each other.
