With homelessness increasing in Australia, providing adequate housing for people in need has never been more important.
That’s why we’re pleased to offer our support where we can. We’ve recently helped out one of our customers, Servants Community Housing, a registered housing provider based in Victoria, with subsidised energy pricing.
Servants supports people on low incomes who may be at risk of homelessness with long-term subsidised tenancies. Residents are supported by live-in house managers and have opportunities to build connections to support agencies, community groups and neighbours.
Cooks are also on hand six nights a week to make meals for the 95 (soon to be 96) residents living in Servants’ properties, providing further opportunities to bond.
“Homelessness is a housing issue, but it’s also a social issue,” says Jayden Battey, Servants Communications, Engagement & Events Manager.
“Our sense of community and emphasis on house managers and residents caring for one another is something that is really ingrained in our culture and the structure of Servants. It costs a lot to keep things running for nearly 100 people, especially with ongoing cost of living increases, so we’d like to thank Alinta Energy for their support."
"It’s making a big difference in helping us support more people in need.”
