Two Alinta Energy site workers (one male, one female) with white hard hats, safety glasses and yellow hi-vis stand next to each other. They are smiling and looking slightly beyond the camera.

Glenbrook at night

Glenbrook Power Station, NZ

Capacity: 112 MW

Glenbrook Power Station is a fully integrated part of New Zealand Steel’s Glenbrook mill and utilises waste heat gases supplied by New Zealand Steel from its ironmaking processes. The Glenbrook Power Station has typically supplied around 60 per cent of the mill's electricity needs. However, once New Zealand Steel's Electric Arc Furnace is commissioned, which is expected to be around mid-2026, New Zealand Steel's ironmaking plant configuration will see a reduction in waste heat gases made available and, as a result, the Glenbrook Power Station will operate at lower levels of capacity and electricity generation.

Bairnsdale Power Station at night

Bairnsdale Power Station, VIC

Capacity: 94 MW

Bairnsdale Power Station is a natural gas-fired peaking power station servicing the East Gippsland region of Victoria. The smallest power station in our portfolio, it supplies fast-start power to bolster reliability of the network.

Wagerup Power Station at night

Wagerup Power Station, Peel, WA

Capacity: 392 MW

The natural gas and distillate-fuelled Wagerup Power Station supplies peaking power and system support services to the South West Interconnected System (SWIS).
